Job Description

The Electrical Mechanical Technician will work directly under the guidance and mentorship of the Electrical Operations Consultant (EOC) on both small- and large-scale electrical projects.  He/she will be responsible for learning the mechanics of various industrial equipment, repairing electrical malfunctions, and assisting the Maintenance group on an assignment-basis.  This job will require strong troubleshooting and prioritization skills, as well as a team effort, to efficiently address spontaneous and recurring electrical needs.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directly support the Electrical Operations Consultant (EOC) with all assigned tasks and duties
  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical equipment and maintain a log of each performed task with specific detail on repair work and procedure used
  • Assist with HVAC and mechanical repairs, gear boxes, air compressors, and packaging equipment
  • Perform general electrical wiring, conduit bending, and assist with electrical installations
  • Assist mechanical maintenance team with repairs when requested
  • Periodically respond to emergency repair calls on nights and weekends

Job Requirements

  • Degree or certificate in Industrial Electricity
  • At least 3 years of experience in similar occupation
  • Proven ability to read blueprints and circuit diagrams
  • Possess general working knowledge of PLC’s, proximity switches, control and power circuits, electrical circuitry up to 480 volts, pneumatics, AC&DC circuits, Euro drive motors and breaks, and motor starters
  • MUST SUPPLY OWN TOOLS, including: Multi meter, channel locks, 6” and 8” screw drivers and crescent wrench, Allen wrenches, utility knife, wire stripers, lineman’s pliers, and other general electrical tools
  • Able to work in a team or independently
  • Active listener and effective communicator
  • Able to complete tasks in a precise and timely fashion
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Safety-oriented
  • *Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
  • *Welding experience a plus
