Job Description

The Intermodal Coordinator manages the interfaces and transactions necessary for truck moves to and from the Port of Houston and customers.  They are expected to use software and online resources efficiently while maintaining helpful, professional interaction with customers, drivers, and co-workers.  The Intermodal Coordinator is also cross-trained to increase their operational knowledge and cover other areas of the operation when needed.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage interface and transactions for direct customers, including seaboard interchanges and trouble tickets at port
  • Manage interface and transactions for Company imports and over the road moves
  • Gain a thorough understanding of customer needs and expectations
  • Employ systems knowledge and self-motivation to learn what the system does and what it can do to help the Company and its customers
  • Process all requests within timelines set by customer or Company expectations
  • Act as liaison between customer, operations and customer service
  • Provide effective and timely verbal and written communication to customers
  • Take ownership of accounts and act as a true customer advocate

Job Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in an office administrative role involving customer interaction and data entry
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Superior problem solving abilities
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy
