Job Description

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for processing compensation for all employees on a weekly basis using an in-house system. He or she will work with a variety of pay structures, including hourly, salary, as well as trip- and load-based for drivers. The Payroll Administrator is the main point of contact for all employee payroll-related issues and questions.

  • Process Employee Payroll for four companies utilizing two systems
  • Successfully create direct deposit files and paper checks for payroll
  • Process payroll mailings and any other necessary employee mailings/notifications
  • Process changes to employee data
  • File all relevant employee paperwork (includes the creation of digital files for all employees)
  • Ensure that all necessary paperwork for each employee is obtained and on file
  • Process new hire and termination reporting with appropriate authorities
  • Process employee terminations in company systems
  • Process all employee garnishment, withholding, or other court orders
  • Process weekly Federal tax deposits
  • Assist with quarterly and year-end processing
  • Assist employees with payroll-related questions and needs
  • Assist with employee orientation as needed
  • Work with managers and supervisors to assist with employee inquiries, time clock enrollment, and other needs
  • Assist with other tasks as needed

Job Requirements

  • 4-8 years' experience in full-cycle payroll processing
  • Associate's degree or higher in Accounting or related field of study
  • Accurate and detail-oriented
  • Deadline-driven
  • Customer service mentality
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate by telephone, e-mail, and face-to-face
