Job Description

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for processing compensation for all employees and contract drivers on a weekly basis using an in-house system. They will work with a variety of pay structures, including hourly, salary, as well as trip-based and load-based for drivers. The Payroll Administrator is the main point of contact for all employee payroll-related issues and questions.  They will assist in the creation and implementation of best practice procedures.  They will also be responsible for payroll-related tax filing, including quarterly and year-end reports. 

  • Process Employee Payroll for all companies
  • Process Owner Operator settlements
  • Successfully create and file direct deposit files and paper checks for payroll
  • Process payroll mailings and any other necessary employee mailings/notifications
  • Process changes to employee data as assigned by HR
  • Process employee final pay for terminations in company systems according to law and Company policy
  • Process all employee garnishment, withholding, or other court orders
  • Assist employees with Health Savings Account enrollments
  • File all employee paperwork pertaining to deductions, taxes, and other supporting documentation as required by HR
  • Process weekly Federal tax deposits
  • Handle employee payroll related questions and needs
  • Process quarterly and year-end taxes
  • Assist with employee orientation as needed
  • Work with managers and supervisors to assist with time clock enrollment and other relevant needs
  • Create and process reports pertaining to Payroll and Human Resources
  • Create and/or maintain Payroll Processing Manual and other relevant processes
  • Audit Payroll data and functions on a regular basis

Job Requirements

  • 1+ years of full-cycle payroll processing experience
  • Accurate and detail-oriented

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate by telephone, e-mail, and face-to-face
  • Associate's degree or higher in Accounting or related field of study preferred
